FWIW, the #meshtastic boards I picked up recently are mildly cheaper today than the day I bought them - https://amzn.to/4dGkHeo. I went with the pair so I immediately had two items that could chat with each other and this set includes the IPX to SMA adapter so I can use a different antenna more easily in the future.
