Dumb question, but if I bought one of those "MagSafe stickers" on Amazon, that are traditionally used to give an Android phone MagSafe-like-stickiness, could I instead use it in reverse, and stick it to a non-MagSafe accessory so it would stick to my iPhone?
For instance, say I want to stick it to a banana so the banana magnets to my phone
@christianselig Maybe not for a banana but they have basically very small MagSafe mounts like this one I got. It has a sticker on the back so you can put it on any random wall but would work for items too I suppose.
@christianselig MagSafe has front to back polarity IIRC so the sheer force is better with charging accessories. You can find just the magnets rings though not in products and implement them into 3D print designs.

And then like measure it with calipers, at least the central ring thing, and then make your own MagSafe accessories with 3D printing.
@christianselig I just did a little experiment since I have a charging pad without a magnetic ring and rings with stickers that have used to make my cases magnetic. One of these rings could make this pad MagSafe-like.
The trouble I have had over the past few years is when the pad is not lined up perfectly it cause cause overheating. I think that condition is now detected and charging it terminated to stop it. You’ll need to be sure the magnetic ring is positioned perfectly.
With my experiment it works just fine with this metal bring in between the pad and phone.
@christianselig A couple of my Android dev test phones have those stickers stuck to the cases they're in so they can stick to my MagSafe desk arm rig (cheap mic arm + screw-on magsafe camera mount == hovering phone to save neck and back that also keeps cables out of the way), and no, they don't stick to my iPhone.
@christianselig Nope, those stickers would let you mount a MagSafe wallet to a car dash, for example. But what you're looking for is a "MagSafe Wall Mount" or similar magnet. I've got a few of those kind of circle magnets around the house, like in the bathroom, for wall mounting without charging.
Stick one to an SSD and you'll get a MagSafe-like experience, just a little bulky. Or banana, you do you.
