People scattered to the winds on a dozen different platforms after twitter started dying but months later we have bluesky which feels like a twitter clone missing features, but lots of journalists and famous people on board so reading is decent. Mastodon has 500 character limits and unlimited seamless editing which makes Bluesky feel more broken to me, so I prefer to write here and kinda hope bluesky dies, even though Mastodon is still too nerdy for regular people to adopt and find their tribes.
@mathowie I just joined Bluesky after using Mastodon for the last six months. There are so many more people on Bluesky whom I know, and it’s so nice to see them again. Mastodon has felt pretty lonely to me.
@mathowie the reply culture on here for anything that isn’t, like, artwork, is so toxic though, you can’t talk about news or tech with any reach without getting 100 neckbeards wellakshullying you to death like so many seagulls
