I put up with open source communities, in the hope that one day they will become better, just as they are constrained to put up with me in the hope that I will become better.
@geerlingguy most in-person events are amazing. Most actual developers are amazing. I think there's just a minority shouting loudly in the comments section and on Reddit, but I wouldn't really call them an "open source community".
@geerlingguy@mesebrec It really was! I’d add SCaLE to the list - and one day I’d like to go to Flock. One great thing about #FOSSY this year was the mask mandate and how seriously people took health and safety. Like I keep saying it would be great to see other community conferences follow suit.
