The premise of this group is relatively self-explanatory. The United States has some rather authoritarian practices, and I really think that that should be more of a dealbreaker.

More broadly, I am ostensibly writing a book. In a perfect world, entirely comprehensive from the colonial era to the modern day. More realistically, since 1898.
