@ai6yr Since you are the only person I know that repairs things: I have old Energizer Weather Ready flashlights that are normally plugged in, switched to the position that keeps the light completely off, but will turn on when the power goes out. On several of them the light is no longer completely off anymore in that position. I have replaced the batteries.
