Stargate Universe started 14 years ago today on Syfy.
Some didn't like the change of style for Stargate, others (and me) regretted that the second & last season ended on a cliffhanger. In any case, it was the beginning of the end of a golden era for Stargate. #scifi#stargate#universe#syfy#spaceship#destiny
@TheSpaceshipper I loved SGU. It felt older, more mature, sometimes funny, but more real. I am still sad and rewatch the ending scene from time to time.
@TheSpaceshipper I adored this show. It was after I had fallen off the SG train during the later SG1 seasons, never could get on with Atlantis. I gave this a chance, and slowly fell in love.
It set up some great characters and conflicts. And even resolved them, while the chars are still imperfect. And new conflicts still arise, only as evolved ppl. Love the ship. Kinda helped that it seemed like it was very Farscape inspired. At least for me.
@TheSpaceshipper There's a six-issue comic written by the showrunners that gives a very compelling and satisfying idea of where the show was headed next, for anyone curious.
I didnt like the show at first, took me some time to really warm to it and get over how desperately it wanted to be Battlestar Galactica in tone, but by the end it was one of my favourites. Such a shame it got canned but that's fans for you, reactionary and stubborn if served something other than what they ask for (See Star Trek: Discovery)
