I learn to ride the skateboard since two weeks now. I am going to the local skatepark two or three times a week after everything else is done.
I can stand on it without falling and I can give it a gentle push and roll a few meters. For me this is a lot of progress.
The fear of falling is a big issue at the moment. It prevents me of giving the board a harder push. To overcome this I want to practice falling the next time that I go to the park.
Two months ago, I tore my MCL dropping in on a mini #halfpipe. The physical injury healed quickly but the mental block took months. Today, after weeks of training, I was able to do this again on my own. THIS is why I love #skateboarding. This was so worth it, as minor as it looks.
Spent the morning yesterday and today at the skate park with the kids. It feels good to be back on the board and spend some quality time with my kids. I might be old, but that doesn’t mean I can’t have fun still while getting some exercise :) #skateboarding#qualitytime
i picked it back up last summer when my kids showed interest. even here in Vermont (small state) there are a bunch of skateparks around and we hit them up several times a week.
my ollie is coming along... yesterday landed a few rolling shuvits. the kids are doing great with balance and basic ramp tricks. after two long beautiful days at a local park my legs are like dead logs, but it feels great!
