Hello, today I tested the performance and efficiency gains of my Steam Deck OLED at different TDP settings. As a benchmark i used 3DMark Firestrike. Which might not be the best benchmark for the Steam Deck, because it renders at 1080p. But you can still get good information from the results....

Basically, I'd like to make desktop mode look and feel a little more like MacOS, and this app is kind of essential. Unfortunately I don't know anything about what's happening when it doesn't install. I've set a sudo password, I've disabled read-only, I've initialized the pacman keys (whatever that means), now it says "unknown...

Been doing quite a bit of in-home streaming from PC to Steam Deck lately, and decided to give Chiaki4Deck a try for PS5 to Steam Deck in-home streaming. Works like a charm; great graphics (including HDR), touchpad and haptics support, and QoL stuff like sleeping your PS5 when exiting the Steam Deck’s stream session....

I dropped my launch edition steam deck last night on carpet and while all the buttons still worked- something was rattling inside of it. After I opened it up I discovered a missing chunk of plastic from the R2 trigger, that piece presses against another to keep the button from over articulating. I suspect this trigger absorbed...

My on-screen keyboard in desktop mode has somehow become undocked and wider than the screen, making it hard to press certain keys which are half off-screen. It still works otherwise - I can open the keyboard by pressing X and close the keyboard by pressing L4....

Title pretty much, my brand new deck arrived today and I wasted no time loading up all my games and linux desktop apps onto it. I was pretty much firmly sold on it after having the opportunity to experience one 😁...

Here’s a couple of useful info i learned after using emulators for a couple of weeks. This is by far not a tutorial, just things i wish i had known sooner....

Just to be clear, the game runs great with the DX11 on my Steam Deck Oled. The only downside is that i find out that you can actually enable HDR by following this guide and it works GREAT… until it doesn’t. The guide itself work with no issue but to enable the hdr option I have to run the game with DX12, and dx12 ( tested...

So aside from Heroic and other NS launcher, at this point i already have installed the app of Epic, GoG and Ubisot correctly. I’ve also added some artwork with a Decky plugin. After that i’ve made some folder in my sd named [ launcher game sd] and both with EG and GoG i can find those folders in E:/ and install the game on...

I’ve just installed Epic Game Launcher on the Deck and had an issue where the starting screen was black. I’ve already find the fix in * this discussion....

So I’ve run mods on a bunch of different games which were downloaded and installed with the deck alone. No man’s sky, lethal company, Subnautica, etc. with generally no problems but some modding software run through wine had visual bugs but the games worked as intended....
