$115 for the Lifetime subscription? You must be fucking joking, I paid $35 last year for the Lifetime subscription to Reddit. The guy has changed probably ~10% of the code base to use a different site’s API, this is just greed. Tis off to Mobilism I go for the cracked version so, cheers
I hope he makes it so you can restore the old purchase. Right now it says that it can’t find any previous purchases for me, but I also bought lifetime ultra on the reddit app.
It’s possible, but if he’s suddenly charging $115 for something that was $35 and that also kinda gets you less then he’s not exactly thinking logically. Or maybe he knows something about market forces that I don’t? Charge triple the price and offer “less” and maybe the people will come?
He’s a talented dev and I’ve been a long time supporter but he’s really shitting the bed here
Yeah, don’t forget about the grueling six weeks of development time too, it’s practically Dickensian
This isn’t a divorce proceedings, a judge hasn’t mandated that I keep Lawrence in the lifestyle that he’s become accustomed to. Not am I responsible for his bottom line, and tripling prices is probably going to hurt him because I assume a lot less people are going to pay it, just because it’s triple the price for a lot less
Plus people who are inclined to get these lifetime subscriptions probably did already in the Reddit app 13 months ago so they’re a little pissed off about that too, I would imagine. And the fact there has been no attempts to offer discounts or whatever. It’s a swizz
I don’t give a shit about $115, it’s easy to make $115. It’s just the principle. $50 might be different? I wouldn’t need to think too long before buying that. Or $50 if you had a Reddit Lifetime subscription maybe
Add perpetual maintenance and updates to your list… Just because the framework was already there doesn’t mean there isn’t value in the product and the dev can decide what his time and product are worth. Just don’t buy it and use something free.
Yeah, what the fuck. I already paid for the old app, what’s with the pricing here.
Not to mention - that’s just the ad-free option. Sync “Ultra”, which I’m guessing is the equivalent of Pro from before, is now nearly £100 unless I want a subscription.
People don’t have any money anymore, or at least I don’t. Can’t believe I’ve been priced out of the app market and the dating market, fuck me I guess. Or don’t.
If you feel you’re being priced out of the dating market, you really need to consider more cost efficient date options. Public parks, hiking, lots of museums have free or discounted days, beaches or lakes, you can cook a meal for your date which is both a Chad move and cost effective, Even Netflix and chill is pretty cheap. Not every date has to be an expensive restaurant or movie outing. Hell, putt putt golf is cheap if you and your date like somewhat corny. I know I do.
Is there a setting to increase font of replies you’re typing? I haven’t found it and it feels small to me while proofreading what I’ve typed/editing long posts.
I tried it out and it was just more hassle (setups for each account, where the heck do you sign in…) and super slow if you want to use one account on one instance posting on another, …
There is more ‘things’ but for me it just clutters up the UI.
Also ROFL the pricing lol, a good example of adding crap and have you pay to remove it, and ofc a subscription mode wtf.
It’s not like there aren’t any completely free, no ads, front ends out there either.
Was definitely the best Reddit app. Very polished with tons of great features and regular updates and communication from the dev. Was my favourite app in general, not just my fav Reddit app
Yes, Sync for Reddit was a very popular 3rd party Reddit app for many years. I used it for quite a while and it really made using Reddit a lot more enjoyable. It was a great app, just like Sync for Lemmy is now.
Thought it might have been. I was using Joey and enjoyed that experience. A massive improvement over Reddit’s app, and never felt the need to shop around after it.
