to lay off everyone working on Superchargers, new vehicles + getting rid of public policy team, despite robotaxi ambitions.

"Customers not turned off by 's antics instead are losing interest w product lineup of 2 EVs that are ancient in car years (the Models S and X) & 2 EVs that are merely old (the Models 3 and Y)..Any other automaker would have 2nd-gen Model 3 ready to go either this yr or next, but at Tesla, the product pipeline is empty"

Dang who knew alienating the majority of your customer base with RWNJ conspiracy theories would be bad for business?

MAGA don’t EV.

@GottaLaff anyone with investments in Tesla as a company needs to ask themselves why Elon Musk decided to make huge cuts in the only portion of the business that was profitable, rather than spinning off the Supercharger technology into its own company, or selling it.

Because there are two possible answers, and neither one of them is good news.

@GottaLaff and in case the above wasn't clear enough, the two possible reasons are:

  1. The technology isn't, actually, that profitable, a fact which he could be attempting to hide from investors

  2. He's gutting the company in preparation for a pump-and-dump where he makes millions and investors are left holding the bag

@Lana @GottaLaff You forgot "short-sighted and hastily-decided cuts to demonstrate so-called 'fiscal responsibility' to investors so they don't sell."

Also "Have to keep the stock price up because it's collateral for the loans that pay for his lifestyle" and, really, Wall Street loves layoffs.

@GottaLaff that's incredibly sloppy reporting. Both model x and s had full refresh. That's the plaid version you'll see on drag racing yt beating dedicated drag cars.

Model 3 highlander is full refresh. Model y as well.

When it gets that sloppy hard to take story seriously which is problem because there are real issues. Also totally ignores new cybertruck shipping now and scaling up. And the semi in low volume production.

I'm not a musk fanboy but this missed the real stories totally.

@thepoliticalcat @GottaLaff seems more like deflate and buy to me. But any part of tesla valuation based on fsd hitting required 0 interventions per year and thus robotaxi should be removed at this point.

I'm starting to wonder what ketamine use over time really does. I know it's not a true psychedelic which means it's a chemical which will have long term negative side effects.

But hard to account for such shoddy reporting if not stock manipulation. Like zerohedge stories.

@thepoliticalcat @GottaLaff the idee fixe is the one to pay attention to. Musk does not know himself and is surrounded by yes men. I've seen him reference ketamine in interviews as partially responsible for his focus and success which I suspect is true though never tried K so can't say. But probably true. He just doesn't grasp there are costs involved. And risks. It's not free. Particularly not with low grade synthetics like that.

Ego is what all real practices train you to not get trapped by.

@thepoliticalcat I have always viewed Elon as the insecure nerd whose skills and drive pushed him to do things nobody could do. But no inner strength or balance, that wealth and adulation had to create an ego like that. Egos are protective wrappers in a sense. The weaker the core the more dangerous the ego shell construct. I don't think he could avoid this.

Really common in tech. Is why so many tech bros fall into libertarian trap. Aka neofeudalism. Dorsey is same but not as driven.
