Can't decide if I should block the threads.net domain or not.

If I can view content generated by users in the corpoverse with 0 odds of encountering the advertisements which fund those corporations, doesn't that mean that the corporation is working for me for free? Doesn't that mean they're losing?

What arguments do the good people of Mastodon have in favor of each position?

@psyentist I'm not pro blocking, but there are arguments enough to give me pause, one being that there are enough examples of unmoderated hate speech other there, that if it was any mastodon instance, it would certainly be on most block lists, another is that the volume will certainly be very hard to manage, both technically and for moderation.
On the other hand, is not like, a nazi instance, must people here are normal people with nice/interesting content to interact with, and opening to them..

@psyentist would certainly make the fediverse a more viable option for many people (yes, I understand many people, current users, feel it would make it a less viable option for them, and we need to take that into account), which would be be mutually beneficial.

@psyentist a reason I have to "wait and see" is that it seems like blocking when justified will be a lot easier that unblocking if things look safe enough. The very vocal and very invested pro blocking camp will fight tooth and nails against the idea.
