I used to do the London to Edinburgh route a lot when I was at uni, and often it was cheaper to fly. These kinds of cynical greedy changes to the fare structure will likely do little to improve things.
@heliomass fares are simply too high. Need cheaper fares as a cap. Also need more capacity to bring down fares. Oh wait HS2 has been cut. I like the idea of a semi flex date however it is too expensive when traveling as a group/family.
@smsm1 When it’s cheaper to fly, something is wrong. To my shame I remember flying between Edinburgh and London more than I would have liked because the fares were so much more affordable than LNER.
