It's much more unique compared to other flags and does a great job symbolizing Maine's nickname: the Pine Tree State. Additionally, there's this more recent version of the old flag, which uses the pine tree from Maine's state ensign. This is probably my favorite, and I'd like to see it or something similar become Maine's flag in the future.
