@MatthijsSluiter likely. It seems to me that high end phono makers hardly ever make automatics because it’s seen as pedestrian or something else. I disagree. Perhaps it’s just more work. I strongly urge people to get automatics.
@Luke I bought a good non-second-hand turntable for the first time the other day, and the seller couldn't get beyond vague gestures as to why the better turntables don’t at least automatically stop at the end of an album side.
Turntables appear to be designed for specific budgets, too. That new Project player could feature a better element but then it would exceed the budget of buyers looking for fully automatic turntables.

Your reasoning makes a lot of sense. Until I think about what I would really want in a turntable, both performance-wise and convenience. I’m odd. My wants are a hybrid & likely cross the streams of normal customers’ want lists.
Crazy. At this point in my life I’d buy a $100 Sony phono or a $1500 Technics or Thorens and be equally happy for likely different reasons.
@Luke I’m okay with the concept of reissuing. I loved it when CDs were a new format and artists were adding bonus material. That made it worth the price. This is something else haha.
