BrewOtaku #002 is out - The printing facility didn't love us this time and things were delayed. #001 is also still (limited) available! Purchase physical or digital, visit brewotaku.com! Thanks & spread the word 😎
My high resolution re-do of exhibit #001 of 126 of my great big graphics project has proven popular and is the current top download.
I've laid the keel for the high rez re-do of exhibit #002. I'm taking my time on these to do them as well as they can be done.
I originally created the first 18 exhibits at half the resolution of the remaining 108 and did no color restoration work so the new versions will look significantly sharper and more faithful to the originals than the ones currently up.
The definitive high resolution exhibit #001 of 126 of my great big graphics project is now up.
Lovingly restored from two exceedingly rare original sources, color corrected, twice the resolution of the version posted previously, this edition includes two images not included with the previous version and now represents a complete exhibit #001 in every detail.
Around 3/4 done the high resolution remastering of exhibit #001 of my great big graphics project.
I'm taking all the lessons learned from five years making the 126 main exhibits and applying them to this ultimate version of the first.
I guess the lesson here for me is I'm not a fit for my time. I'll keep working on things and making things because it's the right thing to do, even if I'm the only one sees it or gives a crap about any of it.
It's all frightfully discouraging. Day ending in y.
I started the high rez redo of exhibit #001 of my great big graphics project because it was rote work, stuff I'd done creating more than 20,000 images. It took me 2 hours to create the first 3 images.
I'm rusty. Distracted. Zard.
Echoes from the before times are superimposed on the increasingly hostile now like a translucent overlay.
Recalled to life because I'm the survivor. Feeling cored.
I decided to start logging the interesting things I find each month and publishing a list on my site. I started in the last week, so there aren't a ton in this one.
Anyone fancy a #Picovision?
The board is finally back in stock at Pimoroni: https://shop.pimoroni.com/products/picovision?variant=41048911904851
It's a fun gadget to play with, plenty of potential yet to be plundered. And maybe there will be a Compo #001 at some point?
Recommendation: You probably won't need the kit. Everyone here will have a million USB cables, HDMI leads, and spare SD cards, right?... but I do recommend the USB Accessory Injector!
Exhibit #124 of 126 of my great big graphics project is slow going due to substantial physical damage of the sole known intact original data.
Still working on that psychologically affirming one quarter done milestone three days in.
I've got errands and such today so won't be able to put in any hours until after dark.
In the meanwhile, exhibits #001 to #123 are presently available online: accessible, indexed and searchable - with content removed from the official copies - free, only here.
Exhibit #124 of 126 of my great big graphics project will contain 68 images. I'm going to have to check on the reference copy of this dataset how many more images are in my original than their official copy. At least 4, maybe 20.
Bot appears to be napping, so today’s thread is brought to you by the colour thirteen, the number puce, and the total fabulousness of the Numbat numbats
Another use for ‘sort title’ is for making collections for things like actors, directors, decades, genres, etc and then sticking them at the top of the library by appending special characters or numbers to the beginning of the sort title, like '#001 Steven Spielberg Collection’s
Star Wars and Indiana Jones also have this issue with inconsistent titles, which make the default sorting annoying.
