I’ve obscured the faces, but trust me when I say 🚫😷. This is what is currently going on in Hong Kong. Right here, right now, today.

They were one of the last places to drop mask mitigations

I dare not say anything but am seriously disturbed

Also, the stereotype of Asian people being good at wearing masks.. that’s LONG☠️☠️☠️

Yeah, no wonder everyone thinks we’re crazy..

I keep going back to this tweet like it’s a mantra🤦🏻‍♀️ don’t care for mantras but I’ll make an exception for this one

Also, not that it matters outdoors/indoors whatsoever remotely anymore when all it takes is literally 1 breathe, but it was an indoor competition & none of the pics of ANYBODY who was a non-performer was😷

My friend’s kids are 5 & 9

I feel like I’m watching a horror movie & as an observer can’t get involved b/c the script is already written

This episode of Blindspot is not for the weak. It’s so sad just thinking about it..🥺the little boy born w/AIDS never left the hospital & died by age 4 b/c his immune system couldn’t take it anymore

A Bio Safety Level 3 is serious when Level 4 is the worst

Would parents behave like this if they KNEW?

I honestly don’t think they would

THEY DON’T KNOW

Funnily enough, saw name Naomi Klein & thought, uh oh… but it’s the good Naomi Klein🖤🖤

It’s 2 years later from this quote & this sentiment of “my immune system is great” looms larger than ever. It’s pretty much the sentiment everywhere

Guess what.. your immune system is nothing against a virus that REPEATEDLY & ENDLESSLY INFECTS.

Absolutely EVERYONE is vulnerable to

There might have been a gene that was helpful in year ‘20, ‘21, ‘22 but mutated out of control b/c people are a**holes & that magical gene, pretty sure it doesn’t work any longer

Also pretty sure it was extremely rare & everyone that thought they had it, never ever did

Relative to the amount of⏱️other terminal diseases gives one, this… this is going to be instant karma in comparison

We’ve repeatedly begged people to do they right thing going on years now. There will be consequences

Pics from original tweet QUESTION FROM THE AUDIENCE: Do you see fascism creeping into the neoliberal project? A lot of left analysts are talking about imminent fascism and the great debate on the left focuses on the question, is this classical fascism? How does it differ? So, do you see a risk of fascism in our present moment? KLEIN: I definitely see a risk of eco-fascism. I see a risk of the climate crisis being folded into a narrative around "great replacement" fears and white supremacy, creating an even more toxic cocktail than climate change denial. It's one thing to deny climate change. It's another thing to say, "Okay it's happening, but we need to fortify our countries and our borders and maybe the outsiders should die." You have a sort of convergence of wellness worlds with the conspiracy and far-right worlds. It's really terrifying because you'll hear things like: "Well, I have a great immune system" and "I take care of myself, so why should I have to sacrifice for all these people who aren't taking care of themselves? Maybe they should die." This is a fascist worldview. Frankly, I see it spreading quickly and in areas that are surprising, like in yoga studios (not all of them). "Conspirituality": a coming together of the wellness world with far-right QAnon worlds. It's a real thing.

I feel like I'm the only person who isn't walking around and pretending like Covid doesn't exist anymore.

Exactly.

Or have to take antibiotics daily for 6-12 months from catching which is also a virus just like mind you

The brain damage scares me the most though
There’s enough evidence & studies out there that point to brain damage not as a potential but a reality, especially with Omicron. And this belief that it’s gotten milder is absurd.

Reading about how people exactly die from dementia & Alzheimer’s really should terrify everyone. Heart attack would be welcome in comparison. Also 46 year olds don’t drop dead from heart attacks, but you do you🤷🏻‍♀️

it took me several check outs from the library to get through this, but it is one of the most interesting, depressing & dense books I’ve ever listened to & am a better person for listening to it altho👀👀👀

After reading/skimming the peer reviewed all of 2022 & noticing all around me for the past year, learning about was my goal for 2023 & boy did deliver

Having never known about it, what I can say is, you definitely do not want this; it makes look like a🎄🎁

Book was published in 2019 when there were 75 million approaching the prime dementia ages where 30-50% will have it by age 85. Post Covid tho, that number has risen %-wise & age of onset lowered by DECADES

Symptoms aren’t straight forward b/c it’s not merely the stereotypical memory loss & I realized one of my building neighbors had been suffering from it for at least 15 years after listening to all the presentations of different types. There are 7 stages & you could probably hide the fact you have it w/out too much difficulty

There is no cure & the “recommendations of prevention” are honestly… useless if you don’t remember the first rule; DO NOT GET COVID/viruses or minimize the amount of times you do & certainly don’t breathe air arbitrarily🚫😷

Never thought about dementia b/c it didn’t run in my family but after 2 full infections, now I worry just a bit. Ok.. I’m a fatalist hypochondriac so perhaps slightly more than a “bit” but medical paranoia has been generally my friend, so I’ll continue being paranoid

The stories are harrowing but this book is definitely what I needed to know b/c mental decline will only be ever increasing all around as more time goes by

Expect to see more articles like these over the next year..

All of these recommendations .. aren’t going to help a fig if you aren’t avoiding the

According to the greater your cognitive ability, it seems greater & faster the decline when it comes

And when it comes, depending on which kind, it can be fast.. as short as 2 years or as long as 10

Exercise, socializing & brain games aren’t going to much help w/ virus
