Today's challenge: (and as a result) vs. 's force-hint feature.

Lots of things going on in @debian at the moment with the ongoing 64-bit time_t transition (Y2038)…

Filed a few serious bug reports and restored an old tool to help track issues for : https://lists.debian.org/debian-boot/2024/03/msg00102.html

How is this session going, you ask? Current mood is “the SVG whisperer”.

Recap: Bookworm RC 3 was planned around mid-May.

As Ethan would say while pushing the big red button: !

With thanks to the images team (debian-cd) and the archive team (ftp) for trusting me to handle parts of their workload, meaning a very comfortable autonomy in the release process.

@XOrgFoundation The answer is obviously: “whatever people actually doing the work are going to be working on!”

Speaking as a former X maintainer in Debian, and as someone who integrated it in the graphical installer, replacing DirectFB… Feeling a little sad to see that old friend go, not sure about the timeline in distributions, or about what (re)work will be needed in to keep a graphical version. But I'm sure we'll manage!

Full support! 💯

This is one of the longest mails I've written during this release cycle, with lots of thinking and anticipating over the past few weeks.

Let's see if the upcoming RC 3 and RC 4 can be managed in the way I envisioned…
