Weaponized Capitalism, and the fantasy of "public vs private", and systemic oppression.

Eswatini: A woman cleans houses for $25/month. She's in poverty. So she starts farming marijuana, which is illegal. But she earns 30x what she was earning cleaning houses. It supports her and her family and her kids can now afford to go to school. The government is now considering legalizing marijuana as a crop. Good, right? Let her be a legitimate business woman, right?

License fee to farm it? $50K

Who benefits from a $50K licensing fee? Not her. Companies that can afford it, turn this into a corporate cash crop, and then hire her for $25/mo to farm their marijuana fields.

See the problem?
