Today at the #FabLab a kid brought in a 1979 (pre-barcode) Dick Smith electronic kit: Stereo amplifier with bullhorn speaker. And no instructions. Not even a circuit diagram.
Searching for a PCB design number came up with the name of the kit, another search provided the name of the bumper annual covering it, and the internetarchive provided an actual circuit from said book. After being taught how to identify polar capacitors, youngling has begun assembly.

I've ordered 2 #prusa 3D printers for the #FabLab in #Masterton. Kinda come full circle since the Prusa is based on the Kiwi Mendel design I did 13yrs ago. Prusa was kind enough to ask if I was Ok with this.

On a fait quelque démos, (avec "effet démo" inclus) qui ont intéressé (voir fasciné) jeunes et anciens (entre 8 et 88 ans je dirais) qui ont pu voir et comprendre cette technique de première main

Today the #FabLab guinea pigs managed to correctly interpret our documentation (with direct instructions limited to coaching their soldering technique) and assemble a Quirkey chord keyboard to the point where they got a character out of it. Not fully assembled yet, but positive indications that things haven't been fried during construction 😜
