At midnight Fri, funding runs out for 6 big annual spending bills -due to a dispute over funding for the DHS. Issue: is a continuing resolution to fund DHS at the FY2023 funding level thru Sept. 30. This is in lieu of a normal appropriations bill for FY2024.2 sides can’t even reach a deal on that CR. The same issues remain — how much to spend: on BP officers, for shelter & detention beds for undoc. migrants...
