that episode really hit home when it originally aired; I’d first read a science fiction story about the Epic of Gilgamesh not long before it aired in Isaac Asimov’s Science Fiction Magazine (“Gilgamesh in Uruk”, by Robert Silverberg, June, 1988, issue).

In 2007/2008, an exhibition took place, that provided an insight into one of the oldest literary texts known today – the epic of , the mythical king of ancient Uruk.

We undertook the exhibition’s concept development and planning, together with students from the Freie Universität Berlin.
To illustrate scenes from the epic, the young artist Franziska Leischker produced a series of screen prints exclusively for the exhibition and the catalogue.
