On the red line #train to a school art event at #boston city hall for the kids. My wife panics five minutes in and takes kid and herself to take a taxi, having lost a lot of trust in the #mbta
But I'm stubborn and the last taxi was a fartmobile. No thanks!
I get to the city hall via train literally five steps ahead of wife, though 10 mins late. They haven't even started yet. I hear her say "well that was pointless" behind me.
The T has endorsed a recommended alternative for a proposed extension of the Silver Line through Everett. The plan calls for a big expansion in dedicated transit-only busways between Sullivan Square and Chelsea:
The recommendation calls for about $95 million for street reconstruction, transit-priority signals, and busway infrastructure. The #MBTA has already applied for a federal grant to finance a $28 million street reconstruction to add a dedicated transitway on lower Broadway in Everett.
In an interview, #MassDOT Sec. Monica Tibbits-Nutt reveals that #MBTA commuter rail fares from her hometown (Zone 8, where a monthly pass costs $388) are prohibitively expensive, even for her:
Privatized #Boston rail: “We don’t want to #strike, but we will when we are legally able to” - new cleaners pay so low, eligible for #FoodStamps and #Section8
The #MBTA should have just shut down the entire Red line for this service work. 25 minute headway during late rush hour ... I'd rather they had also taken this time to fix the Central-to-Harvard slow zone, too, if it's going to be this pants ... #Boston#PublicTransit#Complaining
