In naive earlier times I thought clear data would compel policy solutions.
In slightly later naive times I thought that once the popular media cracked each story, that things would change.
In embarrassingly recent times I thought politicians might see the political and practical advantages of acting in accordance with reality.
But only groups like militaries and actuaries, whose near term survival depends on getting the analysis right, and whose analysis is dissociated from peer pressure, are COVID-conscious in action.
So here we are, knowing #COVIDisAirborne, #CovidIsNotOver, #LongCOVID has a higher #MassDisabling burden than Polio had, and left struggling, yet again, to understand how in light of these truths we might steer society to a less harmful path.
I don't know what to do, but I know that logical conclusions require a basis in fact, and I'm here to try to contribute to the collective effort of figuring it out.
