I don't understand from the @miraheze wiki if it's possible to request that a deleted wiki gets undeleted? Does anyone have any experience with this?
I had this wiki that where mostly for looking up things that where already there, and so I didn't always edit it that much and it got deleted for inactivity and now I'm really sad. I put a lot of work into this, and I think it was quite important. #miraheze
I am excited to announce that Pandora's Tale Wiki will be participating in Indie Wiki Jam, organized by @tacopill and others.
What is it? It's a two-week event in which everymany is encouraged to edit independent wikis that you haven't edited before, taking place from January 12-26. Here's the main site https://indiewikijam.com/
Five wikis have been announced as participants so far, though there is still time for other wikis to apply. We're one of the participating wikis!
Yeah, aside from us, all of the wikis involved are about video games. That might change before the jam actually starts, as there is still time for other wikis to join.
The #Miraheze dumps have little impact on the numbers but with the renewed interest in our ancient messy code I'll soon be able to credit some new developers and archivists.
Further to my previous post about #miraheze (https://iscurrently.live/@theresnotime/110555837917887584), apparently there's some attempts to keep it going — I cannot in good faith recommend you believe them, and you should still migrate away from them as soon as possible.
If you're in the EU/UK, I'd also recommend you submit a data removal request under the GDPR (once you've got your backups).
If you're using #miraheze to host a wiki, please take a data dump now while you can — there's loads of other places you can host a MediaWiki install.. don't wait until it totally implodes!
@theresnotime I was in the process of moving my wiki from #FandomWiki to #Miraheze when I heard the news. I made a request to import the data, and it's still "pending' and probably won't go through.

I am seriously considering switching to calckey.lgbt as my main instance.
Is there anything bad about the instance I should know before I hit the button? Something bad the admins have done? Conflict and uncertainty among the mods? Instances they didn't #defederate that they should have, or vice versa?
@miraheze Are you going to update dumps on archive.org for public wikis?
Would you consider selling the #Miraheze assets to a non-profit association or #coop, so the community can continue under another (and more appropriate) corporate entity?

The real question is: Will Miraheze remain stable? I hope so. They're a necessary competitor for Fandom in this space.
