Pokemon Polished Crystal has a national dex and reusable TMs and I'm unironically enjoying it way more than Scarlet/Violet.

The Gym guy doesn't call you "champ in the making" though so I gotta ding it for that. Though maybe they just didn't in gen 2 I forget.

VERY impressed they somehow made saving instant, even when changing boxes.

@SirTapTap Found the answer, no the RTC basically doesn't function unless the game is playing since it's a ROM and pocket doesn't pass RTC to the core/game or anything.

with Polished Crystal however, they simplified resetting the RTC so it's pretty easy to do on your own: https://sirtaptap.com/articles/set-time-in-pokemon-polished-crystal/
