Okay, I was travelling this past Thursday, so I missed #ThursdayFive ... but I'm home now, so it's time to do #TheHatedHit list.
It's far too easy to list songs from genres I don't like, it's much harder to think of songs that are from bands I like, but I just... these songs... I just can’t.
I hate songs with children singing. Can't explain it. Just drives me up the wall.
Honestly, that last one falls under the category of “interlude" in m opinion. I'm not sure those should qualify, since there's so many albums that have songs that are less than 2 minutes and amount to basically just filler.
#theHatedHit that's easy. Most hated hit of 2024 and 2023: Miley Cyrus - Flowers
Of course there arese other 9 songs that get repeated over and over again on the usual radio stations - but this one is probably the most annoying one.
So many bands entire discography could be included in this for me - KISS, Guns n Roses, Oasis, the Eagles (except for Victim of Love) - and I’m starting with my favorite band of all time, but I hated this song from the first time I heard it
These are going to be hot takes for some of you. Matchbox 20 might be my most hated band ever. Ear garbage. I hate Rob's voice. Same with Blink. Hate em. Grating, goes right through me.
I hate all of these artists fully, but these songs are maybe my most hated from them. Can't even believe I'm posting links to these gross songs but here we are 🤮
Radio has a concept called "Burned", songs that are overplayed. Lightly burned songs can come back - as I've found with Bryan Adams or Belinda Carlisle.
The Beatles and ABBA deserve special mention for every song they ever wrote. I'm glad they inspired so many great musicians who came after them. But I can't stand any of their music.
Here are the songs where if they come on the radio, I start searching for a volume level lower than mute.
