Finally cleaned the corner of my desk, which has the vintage computer corner of the desk, which consists of a Power Mac G4 Mirror Drive Door from 2022, a Macintosh 8100/100AV, to run older Mac OS games that won't run on Mac OS 9 or run too fast, and a custom Wintel (eww) Pentium III games to run older PC games.

The 8100 restoration is in it's early stages. I have a Wombat ADB to USB adapter to allow the use of a USB KVM switch, which allow me to switch between these three vintage computers seamlessly and switch the source on the monitor. The 8100 now sports an external BlueSCSI to boot from flash media with an AAUI Ethernet adapter to get new software over the network. There is no need to burn discs or use floppy disks to get software on there.

I'm not complete with the 8100 yet, Need to repair some stuff, upgrade it to a Newer Tech G3 Accelerator, and probably max out the RAM.

The custom Pentium III machine is not plugged in yet, need a DVI to HDMI adapter or DVI to Displayport adapter, but it will happen in the future.

I'm using a Sabrent USB peripheral sharing switch to share the keyboard and mouse between all three computers.

@yon @chikorita157 The closest that you can do with a similar layout, especially if you're comfortable with opening up and tinkering with keyboards; you can get the Apple Extended Keyboard II (M3501); they clean up and can be restored rather nicely, and are nice boards to use ๐Ÿ‘€

@yon @chikorita157 If you mean https://www.flickr.com/photos/number5/6688287471/ keyboard with the really slim bezels often referred to as the "Apple IIgs keyboard", they are "mechanical" keyboards - either using SMK or Alps switches (which one depends on if the keyboard was made in Taiwan for SMK, or Japan for Alps). Both can be great from what I've heard, especially if they're taken care of or if you clean them up and restore them.

The Apple Keyboard II looks somewhat similar, but with slightly thicker bezels.

If your ADB keyboards are full size - Apple Extended Keyboards 1 and 2 are mechanical, Apple Design Keyboards are rubber dome.

A fun show set in an Imperial China-like setting, filled with lots of court intrigue and an apothecary that is VERY passionate about her craft - and also about navigating the world of court politics. The Apothicary Diaries can be VERY dramatic in a very soap opera kind of way, and the interactions between Jinshi and Maomao can be fun. I feel like whether or not you enjoy this boils down to on whether or not you like watching the insane court politics and maneuvering that can occur, and on whether or not Maomao's obsession with poisons and medicine is endearing to you. I can say that it was alright watching the intrigue, and that it was a delight sharing a similar dedication to health care as Maomao.

i've been wondering this for a while - but when the two guys pop up in this clip, the first guy that speaks up (on the right) sounds like Tomokazu Sugita (of Kyon from the Haruhi Suzumiya fame, or Gintoki from Gintama); but AniList nor AniDB don't really say anything on who this guy is :TamakoThink:

Shame on you @mozilla. Now I'm genuinely considering using something like Waterfox or LibreWolf, or maybe just trying out GNOME Web instead (at least it's still not a Chromium-based browser!)....

If anyone has any recommendations, tried the jump, has any quirks or downsides to report, and if you felt like you made the right choice jumping over or if you regretted it and jumped right back over to Firefox; let me know!

I'm Tobleh; I'm a Canadian of Filipino heritage, from the GTA in ๐Ÿ‡จ๐Ÿ‡ฆ.

I'm a guy (cis), panromantic, and asexual/demisexual. As of writing, I'm a nursing graduate (pending NCLEX); mainly interested in mental health nursing. DO NOT rely on me for health advice; I encourage you to seek out a doctor, therapist, or other health professional.

As you can tell by the profile picture and banner, I'm REALLY into anime; mostly a Kyoto Animation lover (Hibike, Tamako, Liz, etc.); although you can also check out more of my tastes here.

I love tinkering and messing around with tech! Was a PC and smartphone nerd in a past life, currently a Linux user ('btw i use arch' on my desktop, Debian on my laptop; both with GNOME).

Also REALLY into mechanical keyboards, mainly vintage boards! Ought to make some sort of post or directory about my collection; but as for highlights, my favourite boards are the Model F XT, Novatouch, Televideo DEC keyboard (w/ linear Hi-Tek Series 725 switches), BTC 5100 (capacitive foam and foil), and my Apple Standard Keyboard (M0116).

As for minor hobbies:

  • Baseball fan, mainly follow the Blue Jays; though I can appreciate sports in general.
  • Daily listen to rock, J-Rock, and Anime songs (anisongs); but open to listening to anything.

i love UPS claiming that i owe them $34.03 to import an item that costs a whopping $0.00 to import into the country.

all I had to pay was a $3.20 two-way bus fare between home and my local CBSA office.

A censored version of the B15 form given to me after self-declaring my package at the CBSA office. The notable thing with this document includes no duties or taxes charged for the package in question.
