Nearly completed the first of two #Mordheim wells (gotta be prepared for the 🎲🎲) and then started my @Thrudball legacy team Akhorne, inspired by @StuWatts ofc. #nutsforthenutgod ofc but THIS THING IS SO EFFING SMOL
My crappy wifi swallowed my late night rage post about how hard BloodBowl is, even with a Tier 1 team (Norse). I'm really struggling to improve past just getting the mechanics right, to getting the strategy right. I've got 3 more incredibly hard games left in the league (Norse, Khorne, Wood Elves). I can't get the team to attack decisively, and can only defend through attrition (so I end up losing players). I'm worried the game's not fun any more because I'm not improving. #bloodbowl#rant
Made the first #BloodBowl 7s league in my area a definitive fact, 21/5 kickoff evening! Haven't got a name yet but one came up with a gem.
Also added the last eye white to my elves, and applied ochre dry pigment to them, to varying degrees of success, and added lighter orange to the loin cloths. That's un- #blanchening I guess.
Did a few arboreal things, such as making sure the leaves don't fall off, getting a better face on there and priming. Also basecoated the Wheelie Bin of Doom to go with my #CountBBFace team as a vargheist. Poll below about appearance.
All the eyes of my #Fedipaint elves have now been pre-whitened.
And I felt inclined to sculpting a face on one for a #BloodBowl treeman and I'm giving up immediately again 😬 may steal a Trish Carden face with oyamaru clay and stick that on.
And built v2 of my paint holder. Found out the 3mm plywood is 4mm and warped AF😬
Did a little conversion on a chaos sorcerer to use as a coach for the renegade team. This one comes with a bunch of little guys that are very handy as reroll tokens 😁
Had some time to work on the giant, which is nearing completion. The #Fedipaint entry I've had enough of so I'll wrap it up in the coming days and fuck it
On the up side, I've has the honour of playing an inaugural match in the school #WarhammerAlliance stadium.
Started on a lazy tartan on the #BloodBowl sporting giant but am unsure: abort or continue?
Also built two #gaslands cars at the school #WarhammerAlliance. And the kids working on the stadium have finished it! Now to encourage students to have us print teams they can paint and use!
Got me some striking paints for the new #bloodbowl team. Thinking about checkers. Not sure I can pull those off in cool way with contrast paints. Will probably try anyway. Happy with the pink and green. The pink needs thinning tho.
Blimey - I'm going to be a Blood Bowl League Commissioner.
A grand title, but I'm just running an informal league for my local wargaming club which includes some new players. But it'll be on TourPlay too - meaning we can publicise our results and standings.
I'm partially excited and partially nervous at the same time.
And if I win the league, will I be investigated by some fair play commission?
Looking forward to teaching a friend the wonders of #BloodBowl next week.
I originally thought about introducing a new mechanic for each turn, but - at the moment - I'm deciding to go straight in at the deep end and just play out a training game with some hand holding...
Does that sound reasonable? Any tips on teaching this game to newbies?
