It's now available the paper of the Medley talk Andrew Sengul gave at the European Lisp Symposium 2024. It outlines the history of Interlisp, introduces the Medley revival project, and presents the main features and facilities of the environment.

Are you going to European Lisp Symposium 2024?

I have a favor to ask you. Please tell the Lispers there if any of them writes a Common Lisp book I'll be more than happy to buy it, back a kickstarter, spread the voice, and support the author any way I can.

This is just one data point but my hunch is many Lispers are like me.

The results of the work involved in the Kandria Game by @shinmera developed in Common Lisp are a huge number of libraries (at least 54) that are available to use by anyone[1].

Also, the creator wrote an interesting paper about their experience of developing the game with Common Lisp specifically. It was produced for the European Lisp Symposium 2023 and is available for download[2]. A very recommended read.

I consider Yukari Hafner one of the biggest contributors to the Common Lisp ecosystem of our times. They release new libraries for various use cases regularly. Just today a library to fuzzily parse date strings was released[3].

Clearly, these libraries are not only of great use for any Common Lisp developer, they are also thoroughly documented and therefore a breeze to use.

Although I've never played the Kandria game myself (which is available on Steam[4]), I support them financially through their recently created Patreon[5].

Interesting comment from an ex English Teacher in Japan about how the companies make the money! SHOW ME THE MONEY!!! ENGLISH TEACHER IN JAPAN TIME!

Interesting post. I worked in Japan in 1997 for Shane English Schools, Tokyo. It was a year of hell and even now sadly I hear the same story over and over again. I did my Tefl/ CELTA in London, went to the interview, was shown the glossy magazine and heard all the promises of how they look after their staff, how everyone loves...
