seastardodell, to windows

One of several projects I have going… awnings for my tiny windows to block the brutal sunshine in the summer! I’ve gathered the fabric, hooks and all, hand-sewing rather than using the machine. My plan is to make 4 total. I assembled TP rolls to create “rods” and mocked up a paper POC. First fabric shade is finished and I’m working on the 2nd. Mounting each to the house with French cleats is next. It’s been a super fun process!

The finished proof of concept made out of white craft paper, mounted on a wooden frame with black hooks. I assembled the frame to get the measurements and hang pattern worked out.
The finished fabric real-deal awning, with a blue and lime green fish pattern on white, with the mock TP-roll rods, mounted on the awning frame. It was super windy that day so the awning is billowing up in the center.
