Air Not Meant For Us, by Fires in the Distance - Now Spinning (firesinthedistance.bandcamp.com)

Now spinning my vinyl copy. Sorry no pics, as my phone cam is broken. I have such a backlog of records I haven't had time to spin. Finally getting to this one. I have put off even streaming it until I spun the record proper. Glad I did. Sitting here taking it in properly while bouncing around the fediverse is inspiring and...

Fam went to the pool but I've elected to stay behind and get some much needed stuff done around the house. Time to spin some I can't usually get to the table with a house full of kids.

First up, "Doppelganger" by The Fall of Troy

Another late birthday gift & I’m the reissue of by & the Attractions.

This is probably my 2nd favourite of the Costello albums, but contains my favourite song, ‘This Year’s Girl’, which is just glorious.

I’ve compared the & it is easily bettered by the 1st UK Porky Prime cut. The MoFi’s too refined, lacks bite & is less cohesive, whereas the 1st UK kicks ass: as it should.

Photo of a record spinning on the skeletal frame of a Rega P8 turntable. The grey centre label reads, ‘Elvis Costello’, just above the spindle. The tonearm is extended and the red cartridge is tracing the second track.

“Those Who Hunt at Night” by Savage Master. Very reminiscent of in a great way. Feisty, brutal riffs and plenty of attitude, in keeping with the best parts of Halford’s transgressive challenging.
