Shelter: Ideally underground or in a certified tornado safe room, at least first floor, interior windowless small room, site-built structure.

Head protection: Most tornado deaths are from head injuries from falling/flying debris even when in shelter. Motorcycle or bike helmet.

Foot protection: Tornadoes make debris. Thick soled work boots, thick weatherproof socks.

Signaling for help: charged phone AND loud whistle and/or bullhorn

#WakeCounty #Wake #NorthCarolina #SevereThunderstorm warning. Specifically if you’re at the #StateFair the storms are headed for you - that’s why the #fair is closing. Take shelter in a sturdy building and/or immediately evacuate to a safer location where there is adequate shelter if none are nearby.
