Restarted my Severe Thunderstorm Bot (@severetstorm_bot) -- change to the data they're stuffing in their alerts, and my bot as not happy. No longer tagged with the state, as that isn't parsed in the same way... will look at that later

For California weather watchers, that other place 🙄 has had quite a meltdown this week (rampant misinformation by "blue check" nobodies)... rumors, more rumors, angry and hurt meteorologists and scientists... more rumors.

Statement from NWS San Diego on the brouhaha (which thankfully, hasn't made it here).

While we can say confidence is increasing in widespread rain chances next week, we can't quite comment on how much precipitation we'll see, and exactly when it'll happen. Those details at this point in time are very uncertain.
Key takeaway: If there's a legit reason to worry about next week's rain, we or another core NWS partner will let you know. Please be conscious of where your weather info is coming from and ensure it is a credible and professional source.

Super wet couple of days for #NJwx, #NYwx, #PAwx, #MAwx, #CTwx. The #NWS National Water Model is currently signaling some pretty low Annual Exceedance Probabilities for streams in the region. NWM #Flood Inundation is active for portions of the Hudson River Valley, and western portions of CT. Map viewer with flood layers active available here: https://viewer.weather.noaa.gov/water#layers=2+40090+41631+42878+42879+42490+42886&x=-73.49903&y=41.74345&z=17.9&panel=layer

It appears the weather.gov website in my area is not returning correct WX (!) (first is Mesowest -- temps are correct... the next two are from weather.gov).

NWS reporting temps from yesterday , 78F
NWS reporting 79F and clear (it's raining and around 65F)... last update was... yesterday at noon.
