On a recent stay, the host was French, and I sent all the messages/communication in French.

Upon arriving, he speaks to me in English. I respond in French, and he expresses surprise that I speak . All my messages? He had assumed they were auto-.

(does that mean my French is good or bad???)

I tried to translate "Heroïne" and "Pa" from Doe Maar since there's nothing in English even though it's not my native language. I'm still learning so I won't publish it anywhere, but someone has any advice on meanings I didn't get? I did French too lmao #dutch #nederlands #english #translation #translated #lyrics #songtekst #DoeMaar

My god, you changed so much, you're not who you used to be anymore You had such a beautiful mouth full of teeth, no one could tell now, The light in your eyes is gone, you're looking but not seeing anything anymore I've always liked you, they thought you were a cunt Heroine goddammit (*2) Heroine is a curse Heroine goddammit (*2) Heroine, who deserves this? You acted like no one cared, when I was here by your side, And now you have the audacity to say no one looked up to you You messed up with all your friends, screwed up your only love, Would steal change from your mom if it meant getting your shot, You said you're in trouble, you're a drama queen And everyday you repeat "tomorrow I'm stopping with this shit" Girl/boy, it's your own life, you need to realise that But what wouldn't I give to see you smile again
You're sitting here, your hair almost white With wrinkles on your hands Who would have thought you would be so understanding and nice You've changed so much I'm not who you wanted me to be but you have to listen now I do the things I do with my eyes closed You had big plans and for what I'm not getting any gigs I didn't learn much from my failures I struggle with relationships I'm not swimming in gold, I fight to get myself free And do the things I do with my eyes closed Button your shirt straight, put your hand first when tying your tie Jeep your shoulders straight, think about your teeth Don't hang around, go straight home, don't talk back Be polite, mind when you eat, and say Father (or mister since it's formal depends but that can't be translated in English) I stay here I sing I just do my thing You have to accept that Oh dad you have to listen when I tell you it's not too late To learn to live on your terms I don't know where I stand, there's no one walking on my path Just do the things I do with your eyes closed
