Soliciting more advice! This time about NPCs.
My feeling is that West Marches games benefit from being outside of civilization and safety. Danger is the whole point. So it can be difficult to justify the existence of non-hostile NPCs in that setting without undermining the challenges upon which the whole format hinges.

Hey, folks: how do your games start? Do your characters talk? Do you dive right into whatever travel procedure you've established? What's the actual first 10-15 minutes of play involve in a campaign of that style?

A while back I made up a little zine to advertise my piratey game. This is a selection of pages. I never handed any out, I don't think.

Sigh; I do settings easily enough, but not scenes. i should have done for my nascent megadungeon- it may not get playthru anytime soon, but it goes deep. So to speak. heh. is skeletal by design, meant to be filled in via style play as we go; it could use some NPCs, tho they fill out easily enough as needed. Delineating the outlands feels like giving out secrets…. Details.

Our style campaign just saw the first 🙈 but the characters who did not make it out of the dungeon changed the dungeon ecology and the players came up with some really cool stuff.

Hey crowd: what's your favourite wilderness exploration rule set? I'm tinkering with mine for my game and I'm still not fully satisfied. Trying to strike a balance between fairness, variety, and enjoyment is a TOUGH design challenge. Different players at the same table have different tolerances, too.

Ein feines Motto (danke @Morgunin )
"Walls start closing in around you
My twins of evil
They shake you by the collarbone
Then snap your rib cage
And broken bodies in a death rock dance hall
Please be my partner
Eyeballs pop, accelerated blood beat
Veins a-shaking
And all hell breaks loose
Yea, evil is as evil does and who
Yea, who but me could write this book of cruel"
Demnächst wäre ich dann soweit. Und hätte noch Platz für 1 bis 2 SC
