BGP, 6 days ago to nature Merced River Rapids The Merced River cuts right down the middle of Yosemite Valley. As the water travels westward out of the valley it starts to pick up steam. In just a short distance Vernal Falls, Yosemite Falls, and Bridal Veil Falls all converge. Just shortly after that the valley drops and the river picks up steam.
