Clearing Storm Around Half Dome

Yosemite in the winter time is magical if you can stand a little cold. Clouds move in and out of the valley without warning. They can bring snow or rain or both depending on how cold the storm front is.
This image was captured as a storm was clearing from the valley and the clouds released their grip on Half Dome.

Golden Falls

During the spring the Dogwoods in Yosemite have large white flowers. In the fall the leaves turn yellow and fall off the tree.
An early fall storm hit the valley and dropped a good amount of snow.
I used Intentional Camera Movement to create a waterfall affect for this.
The green background from the cedars blends well with the yellow dogwoods.

Half Dome Infrared

This is an image of Half Dome located in Yosemite National Park. This giant rock formation rises above Yosemite Valley and the Merced River.
Captured towards the end of winter there is some snow on top of the dome.
Below the dome is the Merced River flowing slowly giving the trees on both sides of the river a soft reflection. The ground is covered in snow. https://fineartamerica.com/featured/half-dome-infrared-bill-gallagher.html

Umbra SAR layers are exactly where this guy went missing (in 2005, mind you). Conceivably the camera would have lasted from 2005 and be detectable with enough resolution of a synthetic aperture radar.

Looks like it is only by accident that Umbra is acquiring data in that location, not related to this case, but did let them know they had picked a good spot anyway. If there are any Yosemite SAR folks who have any interest in a project, ping me.

Yosemite Falls Infrared

Yosemite Falls is a majestic waterfall that cascades down from Yosemite's high country 2,425 feet to the valley below in three stages. The upper falls drops 1,430 feet with rugged cliffs and steep rocky walls.
The middle falls, not seen here, drops another 675 feet.
Finally the lower falls the final 320 feet to the valley floor.

El Capitan Infrared

El Capitan is a towering cliff that at roughly 3,000 ft. dominates the landscape of Yosemite Valley. A light winter storm is trying to clear in the valley. The clouds hang up on El Capitan and further back form a ring around Half Dome. The sheer rock face of El Capitan stands out against the surrounding mountains and trees, suggesting a serene yet powerful nature scene.

Mirror Lake

Mirror Lake sits near the eastern end of Yosemite Valley with Half Dome to the south and North Dome to the north. Clouds Rest, shown here back right is to the east.

El Capitan III

El Capitan is a majestic granite cliff that soars 3,000 feet into the sky from Yosemite Valley dwarfing the surrounding coniferous trees at its base. The granite is generally a light brown earth tones with a mixture of blueish/grey.
Puffy clouds fill the sky above the imposing rocky monolith. The evergreen trees mix with the dormant hardwoods on the floor of the valley.

Three Brothers II
The steep granite cliffs of Yosemite Valley are majestic and awe inspiring.
The Valley floor is covered in pine needles from the surrounding pine forest.
The Three Brothers look out over the magnificent Yosemite Valley as threatening clouds move through the valley.

Wildcat Falls III

The cascading water flows over rugged rocks in a lush forest. Dried grass carpets the ground at the base, and damp boulders glisten from the moisture of the waterfall.

Snow Kissed Valley

This shot was taken as a winter storm was clearing Yosemite Valley. The morning was cold and nasty but as the day moved on the sun started to break through.
