2muchcaffeine4u,

I recommend browsing videos from Squat University on Instagram and seeing if you can identify the specific type and cause of knee pain and rehabbing that before you write it off as “part of aging”.

2muchcaffeine4u,

I’ve had to resort to multiple apps and they don’t work GREAT even when combined. I was just complaining about this!

I have Auto Photo Cut Paste for cutting faces/other parts out of photos fairly cleanly, and Picsart for actually combining/putting it together, but the Picsart tools seem kind of limited. It’s not a full Photoshop replacement.

https://lemmy.fmhy.ml/pictrs/image/dcfc1fd4-841e-45a1-b553-e5fc56a963d1.jpegI was able to make this using those two apps if it gives you an idea of what’s possible. Face removed for anonymity.

Going from Tears of the Kingdom to Far Cry 5 is...quite an experience

I’ve played other Ubisoft games before, most recently AC Odyssey. Been on a Switch kick for a minute and smashed 200 hours in TOTK, potentially one of my favorite games ever at this point. But I wanted to switch it up and go through some of my PC backlog so I started up Far Cry 5....

2muchcaffeine4u,

I think the most important takeaway I’m getting from this experience is that my usual playthrough method of trying to 100% a game by doing all the side missions and quests will not be rewarded much in this game due to the repetitive nature of it. I’m thinking I’ll enjoy it more if I just stick mostly to the main plot. I grinded AC Odyssey for like 200-300 hours and I think this game is similar enough that I wouldn’t get much out of it playing the same way.

I still like the game, honestly, I just do think the dichotomy of the experience is throwing me off and making me appreciate Nintendo’s ability to create virtually bug free, very complete gaming experiences more than I did before.

2muchcaffeine4u,

I’m considering getting one as well. Putting it off until a gifting holiday as they’re expensive. Only debating between the cheapest and second cheapest size - I would get a microSD expansion either way but I’m not sure if it’s better to have the additional space or not. Odds are I would only have two or three games installed at a time really.

2muchcaffeine4u,

You pretty much abandoned this immediately I guess

2muchcaffeine4u,

I used an email address that would tell me where the spam is coming from to sign up for Lemmy. None of my spam email is coming with that email address so I don't think I'm getting spam from Lemmy sold emails.. I have noticed more phishing emails but I think it's just Gmail letting them through or being more targeted.

2muchcaffeine4u,

...where is this hotel?

2muchcaffeine4u,

Oh, yes, I misconstrued the post as saying this was provided by the hotel! My bad.

2muchcaffeine4u,

OP could also try something like these to take strain off his wrists long term if he prefers.

2muchcaffeine4u,

I get the impression that Mastodon and kbin.social are technically interoperable with Lemmy, but not very well.

2muchcaffeine4u,

Christ. We need massive, global action. We need people in the west to commit to drastically lowering their carbon footprints, ideally by finding alternatives to gas powered cars and cars in general, and we need immediate action on geo-engineering. Atmospheric cloud dust, carbon capture, everything. We can't debate the ethics and morals forever. We just desperately need to start acting.

2muchcaffeine4u,

A huge portion of American carbon usage is personal transportation. The government can do many things to lower its carbon footprint but your life will look significantly different. Local governments are largely responsible for determining what citizens' primary means of transportation is and that's where people actually do have a lot of influence.

2muchcaffeine4u,

I mean yes. This is true. Gasoline is extremely subsidized in the US and even just ending those subsidies would encourage people to do something other than drive. Using that money to expand public transit options would be even better.

2muchcaffeine4u,

Yes, exactly. This is true. Gasoline is extremely subsidized in the US and even just ending those subsidies would encourage people to do something other than drive. Using that money to expand public transit options would be even better. Americans drive literally everywhere. There is no walking anywhere at all. We get very, very little physical activity and use a tremendous amount of fossil fuels and energy to get from Point A to Point B, on top of buying enormous gas guzzling SUVs.

2muchcaffeine4u,

Uh...there are a lot of people with 5 day old Lemmy accounts, there was literally just a mass influx. Probably the majority of users came here within the last 5 days lol. Your account is one week old. Hell, most of the active users of Lemmy before the past week were posting content like this.

2muchcaffeine4u,

Not sure if you know but there's an entire instance dedicated to the DMV already - DMV.social, and DC's community is https://dmv.social/c/washingtondc or !washingtondc

2muchcaffeine4u,

I mean some people are complaining about the price. But I don't care about the price necessarily, as I'm not "protesting". I'm simply tired of participating in the shittification of social media sites while they seek to monetize us. So them charging anything, or attempting to be profitable, is inherently the turnoff for me, because there is an inevitable path that a for-profit social media website takes.

OC PSA: If you have more than 1000 posts, more than 1000 comments, chances are, if you think you deleted/overwrote/shredded everything, you're probably wrong.

I just spent all day today fighting with reddit, trying to get all my comments deleted/overwritten: https://kbin.social/m/RedditMigration/t/45417/Anyone-have-experience-with-deleting-comments-to-see-older-comments#entry-comment-190482...

2muchcaffeine4u,

I've noticed this by googling my username and finding reddit comments still present that don't show up on my profile.

Proposing that Lemmy or Kbin could substitute for Reddit while not acknowledging that lack of search makes it impossible to find the appropriate groups in a decentralized maze of servers is very on-brand for the Mastodon crowd.

@fediverse

2muchcaffeine4u,

I'm not sure why Mastodon posts always end up looking so bad on Lemmy. The title is always gored and the post always has hashtags that do nothing in Lemmy. Just because they're technically cross compatible doesn't mean they should be.

Twitter is not the only platform with a bot problem. Nuking Third-party apps makes Reddits user count entirely self-reported and unverifiable.

It doesn't matter to current leadership of reddit how many people it pisses off. For every user of third-party apps, there are now 10 bots and sockpuppet accounts it gets to count as active users....

2muchcaffeine4u,

I don't understand this claim. Do you have any evidence?

2muchcaffeine4u,

The point is to put your uniquely provided information somewhere else, like Lemmy. Google will figure out how to prioritize this information eventually. Delete it from reddit so that it's no longer the internet's repository of information.

2muchcaffeine4u,

Are these actually any good? I have the vanilla ice cream an honestly, to me it still just tastes like protein powder. There's a chemical, milk-y taste that is overwhelming.

Did this site live and die in 4 days?

This place has roughly 3,000 people and was intended to be an entire replacement for DaystromInstitute and StarTrek as they were going dark indefinitely. Well, within 4 days the moderators have walked back those statements and opened both subreddits up. I see no incentive for people to come to this website now and while a few...

2muchcaffeine4u,

I mean it's fair to say that there have been many performance issues as most of the federations were not prepared for the mass influx of people, and for someone literally brand new and without context it's hard to differentiate between temporary performance issues and fundamental flaws. I agree that all the bellyaching is laughably naive about how quickly websites and services come together and evolve, but we can't pretend that the growing pains haven't happened.
