Right, I’ve got a Lynx 1 that I got in a random auction - the screen was wrecked and the battery cover is missing. But I’d never done a Lynx screen replacement before so I decided to fix it. 3 weeks ago I ordered a screen from Aliexpress

Another day / afternoon where I just can't.

More bad-ish news about $dayjob. And it's kinda something I'd been expecting, but I got an early heads-up that it's really happening and now I just can't get in a head space to actually do anything. Feels like the sky is falling again.

I really would like to get to the point in my life where the constant drama of "what am I going to do to earn a living" isn't in flux and keeping me in a state of high anxiety on a weekly-ish basis.

I'm not sure when I became the kind of person so paralyzed with anxiety about taking care of all the "adult" things. I wonder if the "adult" things have actually gotten much more difficult lately. I also have to get my car inspected and that's never felt more anxiety-inducing than it does now with cars being so expensive to maintain and purchase.

@glc Thanks mate. NGL there's a part of me that wants to be over and done with traditional "tech" work. When I left my previous quasi-academia job, it didn't feel that weird because the new job was hoping to continue serving that world (as well as branch into commercial work). When that project got shit-canned, it was rather devastating and I think the continued anxiety from that is having physical effects on me.

I'm hopeful that things will change soon, for the better. Really appreciate your reply.

Controversial opinion: This is the best C64 you can buy. A real C64 on a chip, not emulation. 2Mb RAM, 2Mb flash memory, 256 colour graphics mode, Amiga-like blitter, runs off batteries. And you can even add a second joystick.

I think with all the hype about the C64 mini / maxi in recent years, these awesome devices get overlooked. I paid £13 for mine and I intend to mod the hell out of it! 🙂

I just dove into a full jailbreak and softmod on mine last night so I can stop swapping discs. Curious to see what else this cute little console can do.
