Thanks for this nice explanation. Also, I would underline some of the requirements of the setup :

… “the experiment requires long coherence times, torsion pendulums that lose little energy as they oscillate, and an ultracold environment.” …

The speed of light being isotropic has been demonstrated already and I believe I know what they mean when they say “both ways” : since all demonstrations of the speed of light are based on “round way trip” from A to B then from B to A. But, no experiments can measure a one-way trip speed.

Thanks, nice humor and great critique of those twisted illustrations we often see … mostly created by AI at low budget

120 GW is not “0.12 TW hours”
it is “0.12 TW second ( …per second)”
Whoops, I should think about it some more …

We knew that : on the bottom side of the Earth the sky is down. …why do you suppose we didn’t knew ?

Using chat GPT doesn’t change chat GPT.
A language model system learn during a phase that’s called “training”. After the training the system doesn’t learn. We, as users, interact with it only after training.
Edit : Oops ! My comment above was out of context because I didn’t read the article … only the title … and I misinterpreted it as meaning that “chat GPT overused certain words” which is not what the article says.

Oops, my bad … so I corrected my above comment.

Great read, thanks a lot 👍
#1 : “I feel like fish” 🤣
: ″‘Tough,’ ‘through,’ ‘thorough,’ ‘thought,’ ‘though,’ ‘trough’ 🤔
: “The way you have to order adjectives (…) : opinion-size-shape-color-origin-material-purpose noun.” - - Today I learned ! … but this one is too difficult, so, I won’t even ever try to apply it.

Just integrate a fuel cell using bloods’ sugar and its oxygen. This device will also improve medical monitoring, interface with your neural link & much more. Win, win, win !

Thanks for this : Great discovery, nice work, well explained in this article.
All this is showing, once again, that artificial intelligence is currently evolving in new fundamental ways and has a bright future ahead.

The team believes that this indicates that UCYN-A can be considered a full organelle. They gave it the name “nitroplast,” and it potentially began to evolve around 100 million years ago.

Ok, nice, but of course they didn’t prove that such things did not evolve 1 million more times in nature (in the last billion years) … and that scientists have still to discover.

this patent site has descriptive diagrams & results :
worldwide.espacenet.com/patent/…/WO2020159603A2?q…

https://lemmy.world/pictrs/image/09668522-9f48-4b9b-b8c2-6d4a9d365e8a.png

Strangely I did not see the diagrams’ descriptions.

A_A,
@A_A@lemmy.world avatar

Well, kind of yes (or yeah…).
But everything about this is now an oversimplification since science can’t describe it properly now.
This image is a simplified schematic describing one of their devices made with the intent of creating an asymmetric electric field which according to the inventors would be somehow related to the trust which they claim they have measured.
There are maybe around 20 of these images included in the patent for which I gave the link and I decided to put one of those images in my comment so users could have an intuitive idea of what their devices could look like … which is completely different from the bogus image in the post article.

A_A,
@A_A@lemmy.world avatar

Yes … and this is also part of the reason why I chose this image (out of maybe 20 other from the patent) to be included in my above comment 👍 ΣFx≠0

I tested it so to see some of its “honesty” limitations (against denouncing wrong beliefs) and found it quite fun … So, I made a couple of posts about it.
