Study reveals "widespread, bipartisan aversion" to neighbors owning AR-15 rifles (www.psypost.org)

A recent study published in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences reveals that across all political and social groups in the United States, there is a strong preference against living near AR-15 rifle owners and neighbors who store guns outside of locked safes. This surprising consensus suggests that when it comes...

Except the stats (art and science) don’t mention that in many of the mass shootings, an AR-15 assault rifle was commonly used. Highly lethal, designed to kill as many people as possible in a short amount of time.

A ridiculous thing to say about the college protests. Last I checked the US hasn’t been spending US tax dollars to Sudanese paramilitaries. Unlike the regular spending of our tax dollars aiding Israel with weapons and constantly looking away at their actions going back decades. Your statement certainly doesn’t pretend to care about the horrific slaughter of these children in darfur either.

Reddit/Stack/AI are the latest examples of an economic system where a few people monetize and get wealthy using the output of the very many.

Oh yes, don’t forget Jared Kushner’s ‘special relationship’ with the crown prince of saudia arabia that netted him a $2billion investment. Jared spent his time as an official making business deals around the globe while daddy-in-law was in office.

Seven out of 10 Europeans believe their country takes in too many immigrants (english.elpais.com)

Europeans view immigration with increasing suspicion. Seven out of 10 Europeans believe that their country takes in too many migrants, according to a survey carried out by BVA Xsight for ARTE Europe Weekly, a project led by the French-German TV channel ARTE GEIE and which EL PAÍS has participated in, as part of the countdown to...

When a military brands itself “the most humane” military like the IDF has. That already should be a clue as to the marketing and propaganda they’ve built up for decades and question why the need for branding at all. Systemic abuses, systemic coverups and blank checks given.

Yes, but are we to believe the IDF is angelic? Considering the dehumanization of Palestinians seems to be so commonplace. If you have to declare you are the most humane, something is amiss.

‘We’re Rolling Out Nakba 2023,’ Israeli Minister Says on Northern Gaza Strip Evacuation

The Nakba (Arabic: النكبة an-Nakbah, lit. ‘The Catastrophe’) was the ethnic cleansing[2] of Palestinians in Mandatory Palestine during the 1948 Palestine war through their violent displacement and dispossession of land, property, and belongings, along with the destruction of their society, culture, identity, political rights, and national aspirations.[3] The term is also used to describe the ongoing persecution and displacement of Palestinians by Israel.[4] As a whole, it covers the shattering of Palestinian society and the long-running rejection of the right of return for Palestinian refugees and their descendants.

This was May 2023 and the usual controlling of narrative and cover given:

US skips UN Nakba event marking dispossession of Palestinians after Israeli campaign

(CNN) The United States and Western nations including the United Kingdom and Germany on Monday skipped an event at the United Nations marking the 75th anniversary of the dispossession of Palestinians after Israel called for a boycott.

The event, the first of its kind to be held by the UN, commemorated the Nakba or “catastrophe” – when roughly 700,000 Palestinians fled or were expelled from their homes in what is now Israel. The commemoration was boycotted by Israeli officials, who also urged diplomats of other nations not to participate.

On Sunday, Israel’s ambassador to the UN, Gilad Erdan, sent a letter to other UN ambassadors “deeply urging” them not to take part in what he called a “shameful Nakba event,” according to a copy of the letter obtained by CNN. Erdan said “Such events only serve to demonize Israel and further push away any chance for reconciliation.”

Record profits, stock markets riding high, rich got even richer, meanwhile ever more people struggle up and down ‘main street’.

Young women in Saudi Arabia sentenced to 11 years in prison by "anti-terrorism court" after being arrested for “her choice of clothing and support for women’s rights” (www.theguardian.com)

Saudi officials confirmed in a statement to the United Nations high commissioner for human rights that Manahel al-Otaibi was sentenced on 9 January for what the Saudi government called “terrorist offences”....

It is absurd that Saudia Arabia will be hosting the UN Comission for Womens rights. ‘They’ve destroyed us because of some tweets’: why has Saudi Arabia targeted these three sisters? Saudia Arabia is as shit as Iran’s regime.

Religion and patriarchal control and oppression of women pretty much anywhere in the world is like white on rice.

Obscene oil wealth that swallows up any attempts to focus on the regimes across the board human rights abuses. Saudi Arabia’s sovereign wealth fund, which oversees about $650 billion in assets invests in US and global markets, in twitter, banks, in global sports, in US weapons, in surveillance, in wars… Saudi golf takeover is blueprint for what they want to do everywhere else
