Today is a big day.

3 years ago today, The Autistic Innovator parent company launched.

Started in 2019 as an autism blog, and became a store 10 months later.

For a bit they existed at the same time on separate domains, which is why shop .autisticinnovator is the store and autisticinnovator .com forwards to it.

The day I went to the county clerk and filed the DBA, I cried happy tears when I got into my car because I knew my life would never be the same again.

I don't agree with that though, there is someone for everyone. It's just about finding the right one, the perfect fit for how you are. Don't settle for anything else. The right one will come along.

I personally don't think it matters what you do in life, long as you fit and understand each others needs.
But this is just my view.

Yeah I remember you tooting about that. Try to look at it as "that person's loss, not yours"

I just tried some free productivity software that was pushy about me using a big account to log in.

It tried to argue, in unconvincing English, that this would help protect my privacy.

Seems suspicious to me.

This instance launched December 22, 2022.

I am the admin, for those who are new.

My business pays for the server hosting, so I will never ask for donations.

We are on much more powerful tech than we need so should be no issues. It could easily handle 500 users and we are a smaller server.

In the last 5 days, we went from 47 active users to 65. This means 65 people logged in within the last 3 days.

I think the thing I’ve learned yesterday and today is that if I spend a day doing nothing my business isn’t going to fall apart. Still getting sales and still making money even though I haven’t done much. My sleep is off and my brain is too tired. I guess my body and brain forced me to rest. I do push both pretty hard. Good lesson to learn, I suppose.

Self care is about looking after yourself in a healthy way or the best possible way you can ashley.

It can be anything from brushing your teeth, doing some exercise, or just simply.. just managing.

Sometimes we get too wrapped up in whatever we are doing and don't realise until we take stock.. and stop.. and be like.. well.. OK.. this was seriously needed.

Even when we say no, our body tells us in the end.

Self care is care.

My last attempt to get sales to my plushie store is Facebook ads. Learned how to target people with interests related to the plushie in the ad. Also learning how to write FB ad copy. Only way to figure out what works is to test it.

I made this video so people visiting my page from the ads will know why the store ad has a different name from my page.

It’s funny how much I hated being on video, and now I’m recording practically every day.

My wife is due back tonight after being away for 10 days. I've done my best to keep the house in order, look alter her cat and water the plants.

I've even mostly managed a modicum of self care, remembering to eat (albeit junk and usually late) and keep myself healthy.

However, I have been left to my own devices and I'm notoriously bad with my executive functioning.

So, wearing this T-Shirt today to greet my wife when she gets home later this evening.. Just in case. ;)

I was never much of a 'nature' person. I grew up in a big city. Then I moved to the Bay Area. Now, I wake up early and look at birds. And even take photos and videos of them!

Looking at a phone screen before bed stimulates the eyes to light which could possibly make it difficult to sleep too.

(Hes says while on here before bed)

I usually lay down in complete darkness for like over an hour. I have mixed results however but its better than looking at my phone late at night.

It’s hard making all these videos. The courses I’ve taken on TikTok and YouTube both said it takes 50-100 videos before you gain traction. I’ve been in one YouTube video and 5 TikTok videos, so very long way to go. Making videos less than 60 seconds is a challenge. I’m not a kid in my 20’s so lip syncing and dancing aren’t my things. Will take some time to figure out who I want to be on there.

May need to take the whole weekend off instead of just Sunday. I’ve been sluggish and tired all week.
