Blue_Morpho,

It feeds 4 and I have one jar of leftovers to freeze. Once a month I have 4 jars and don’t have to cook chicken pot pie that week.

Blue_Morpho,

Bernie would have actually helped Americans and they’d have another FDR to deal with.

The President isn’t a dictator. Bernie wouldn’t have been able to do anything because of the Republican controlled Congress.

Blue_Morpho,

I read this meme, FOR THE GLORY OF THE EMPIRE.

What’s the blatant falsehood? You are required to calculate taxes that the government largely already knows the answer. If you calculate wrong, you get a letter from the Government telling you where you were wrong which proves they knew the correct answers all along. If you don’t pay that fine, the end result will be prison.

The IRS doesn’t actually check most tax returns

That isn’t true. They check all tax returns based on W2, 1099’s and other documents they receive from corporations that paid you money.

An audit is completely different from the automatic checks that make sure every bank record of interest and stock sale lines up with what you claimed on taxes.

If you miss any stock sale or any reported income, you will get a computer generated letter from the IRS for the amount you owe. If you pay too much by accident, you will also get a computer generated check back from the IRS.

I make a mistake every few years and get a bill with fine or a check from the IRS. I no longer stressed about taxes because I know they will correct it for me in a few months anyway. The fine is small because I’ve luckily never made a big mistake. I’ve gotten back large checks for years I forgot I paid estimated taxes and overpaid my taxes.

Blue_Morpho,

It’s almost like, I don’t know, Biden is helping. But both sides bad, amirite?

Blue_Morpho,

The odd thing is Being and Nothingness is held up as Sartre’s great work when it’s actually utter trash. Like if Linus Pauling was acclaimed for his crackpot idea that Vitamin C cures all cancer and as a footnote it’s noted that he discovered DNA.

Blue_Morpho,

I had always heard that Sartre was a great philosopher. I had read his fiction and about existentialism so I thought let me read what everyone says is his great work, Being and Nothingness.

After a few chapters, I wanted to punch Sartre just like the comic. It was nothing but non stop unverified suppositions about the nature of thought.

Blue_Morpho,

I really want someone to interview Lucas and when he starts complaining tell him, “Grow up. They are Disney’s movies, not yours.”

(George said this to fans restoring the original Star Wars without his edits.)

Blue_Morpho,

It’s worse than that. Read the fine print.

They claim that all Chinese pottery was built wrong. The article says (sic) “If you Photoshop the handles to reverse the head, it looks like a Triceratops instead of a classic Chinese dragon.”

Seriously. The evidence they claim is that if you digitally alter the photo, it looks like a dinosaur.

Blue_Morpho,

It’s hilarious that they come out right and say it.

“If we Photoshop this vase, it looks like a dinosaur.”

Blue_Morpho,

You watched half of one episode. You can’t claim the series Lower Decks is awful after watching half of one episode.

The writers wrote a joke where a character comments that Nick Locarno looks just like Tom Paris. It takes a fan to write that joke. It takes a fan to understand that joke.

Maybe you just didn’t get the inside jokes they throw out every 5 minutes.

Transition from litter box to doing business outdoors

We’ve got one cat 6months and the other 3months old, currently both using the litterbox. However we’re going to move to a new house soon, and eventually try to transition them to getting used to doing their business outdoors instead of the litterbox. Does anyone have any tips or best practices for this transition?...

Blue_Morpho, (edited )

Your government knows it’s a problem but doesn’t care.

"A report by the Norwegian Ornithological Association (NOF) from 2018 states that there were about 770,000 cats in Norway in 2016, and that these together kill circa 7 million birds each year. "

Blue_Morpho,

I wonder what happens when 2 Sovcits interact.

Like walk in, take their TV and show them ROYAL DECREE.

Blue_Morpho,

You said, “shaming the general population for misconduct of certain people.” Then you talked about corporate boot lickers.

This isn’t about giant corporations. This is about people who buy pets from breeders instead of adopting. The people who buy from breeders are the problem. There’s no evil corporation behind it.

Blue_Morpho,

??? Breeders are entirely home businesses, not giant corporations. People buying pets from breeders do it for entertainment, not survival like food, shelter, or healthcare.

We can criticize people that buy instead of first attempting to adopt in the same way we can criticize someone who beats their dog.

Blue_Morpho,

There are arguments for situations where common people can’t affect global corporations so corporations can be blamed.

But in this situation, pet overpopulation is directly under the control of the consumer. People buying from breeders instead of first adopting is the only problem. There are no other factors.

Blue_Morpho,

First link on Google has two Icelandic Sheepdogs ready for adoption. That link is not even one of the big nationwide rescue sites:

nationalicelandicsheepdogrescuealliance.org/adopt…

Blue_Morpho,

And yet everyone keeps talking about ethical breeders and how they absolutely had to get their purebred puppy from a breeder because of reasons.

If this was the 1980’s I could maybe accept a reason. But rescue organizations have made it incredibly easy to find whatever breed you want.

But no, people keep buying from breeders and dogs keep getting killed.

Blue_Morpho,

Sorry for misreading your posts.

Blue_Morpho,

I didn’t notice that! What’s with those weird gloves? Are they wearing them in the movie?

Blue_Morpho,

This looks like a failed 1970’s tv pilot.

Blue_Morpho,

Ensign Gomez!

Yes, she was in Star Trek.

Blue_Morpho,

I only know about what I just read on wiki, but it seems like Riel was not someone you would want in charge because he executed Scott just to show everone he was in power.

And what’s Marrsi? The picture is Riel and the group were the Metis?

Blue_Morpho,

I find it insane that you can buy a used Toyota Camry with AC for the same price as a zero turn lawn mower.

I’ve often dreamed of buying a tiny car and welding a mechanical reel push mower to the front. Then I could mow the lawn with AC and relative quiet.
