Furries are centered around anthropomorphic animals. Anthropomorphic means it has human traits. Humans are an animal species. Humans have human traits by definition, therefore humans are technically anthropomorphic animals, therefore all art of humans is technically a subset of furry art.

To be fair, having a mismatch between when energy is available and when it is needed is going to be a problem under any economic system, since it’s a fundamental inefficiency that must be worked around with additional effort and resources

Yeah, just stay out in the open away from places a snake might hide so that you don’t accidentally scare one, and the Mambas should be fine.

Unless it’s within two hours in either direction of the cats feeding time, in which case “I wuv u, have u noticed ur poor kitty is starving and the food bowl is empty? Here let me get all up in your face in case you’ve forgotten about me…”

Tbh if I see black come up 32 times in a row I’m probably betting on black just because I’m gonna start getting suspicious this wheel has actually been biased towards black somehow and isn’t as random as it’s supposed to be. Is there such a thing as an inverse gamblers fallacy?

Yeah, I thought the implication was that in the lore of whatever pretend reality the game takes place in, the penalty for losing the game is getting executed by hanging

I’m still not truly convinced it’s not some kind of meme/ weird in-joke that I just don’t get. Like, that just seems so obviously unsanitary and with no obvious appeal that I just cannot accept that it can be something that more than a extremely tiny fraction of people actually do

Imagine being an animal control guy and having a school seriously call you and ask you to take a stranger’s child because of that child’s participation in a subculture.

The ironic thing is, conflating any and all criticism of the state of Israel with anti-semitism could be argued as anti-semitic itself, because to suggest that jewish people in general and the Israeli state/military are one in the same such that criticism of the later is also hateful towards the former, is also to suggest that jewish people as a whole are responsible for the actions of Israel.

As cultural groups as a whole are inherently unable to be guilty of crimes (since even if a large number of people belonging to one commit some crime, such a group will also contain members that cannot be guilty of it, like young children), but states and similar entities, being organized and capable of decision-making, can be, then any attempt to link the moral culpability of a state and that of a cultural group is inherently to apply unfair accusations to that group, and thus hateful to it.

I mean, isnt this a thing in comedy, where you can make the jokes of the one being funny have more impact by contrasting them with a super serious character? Scrooge is already a normally quite serious character, and the muppets are known for their antics, so leaving the comedy to them and acting serious makes a lot of sense.

What kind of incompetent principal reacts to trouble making elementary schoolers by calling the cops on them?

Realistically I imagine that having access to resurrection would have fairly dramatic consequences on how a society applies punishment. It’d probably be a crime of some sort to revive the executed, sorta equivalent to breaking someone out of jail, states might be more harsh with handing out death penalties when it is possible to undo them if new evidence is found, and the remains of the executed probably would be carefully stored and locked up to prevent unwanted revival and to have in case the state decides to bring someone back, assuming the body is needed for it.

Might also get things like a monarchy which kills off heirs to the throne after a certain age and stores them careful to revive when the current monarch dies or abdicates, to prevent scheming between them to increase their place on the line of succession or take over from the current ruler early, and to ensure they are young and healthy when they take the throne.

We're probably pretty fortunate that humans have at least some degree of self control over when we stop eating.

Like, I just was thinking about how lots of pet species will just eat as much food as you give them to the point of making themselves sick, and keeping them at a healthy weight requires not giving them access to too much food. Obviously some humans have problems with this, but imagine how bad things would be if everyone were...

If we go back in history, there was a point in time, after radioactivity was discovered but before nuclear weapons were developed, where there was a trend of putting radium and other radioactive substances in health and beauty products, because I guess people thought that because it possesed some form of energy that it must be good for you. In hindsight that seems far more stupid than some embarrassing dance or something.

I mean, a law doesn’t have to stop every criminal to be useful, if gun control causes any significant reduction in shooting deaths, it will have saved lives, even if some shootings still occur.

[EU4] Great Britian just demanded the worst looking bordergore I have ever seen an AI intentionally make in a peace treaty, in any paradox game (pawb.social)

They literally took the gold provinces- all the gold provinces that have generated in south america this run as far as I can find, and nothing else. Kinda looks like open wounds or something else gross with that combination of map colors.

I mean, the United States has, to be fair, developed a food culture that emphasizes using a lot of meat, especially over the past century or so. It’s not surprising that people from an area that eats so much meat, who go vegan, are going to want to look for ways to still make dishes familiar to them

Something I once read is that different cats don’t seem to use exactly the same noise to mean the same thing, ie, one cat might use a certain sort of meow to show that it is hungry, but another cat might use a similar meow to show that they want attention. Further, that wild cats usually stop making many such noises after they grow up, but domestic ones keep using them to communicate with people. If this is true, then the cat noises don’t really represent a cat language as such since each individual cat would have it’s own different set of vocabulary it develops in an attempt to get humans to understand it, being forced to resort to being all dramatic and acting like a kitten to get their message across because humans are sometimes too clueless to understand their body language.

I’m not sure being able to get away with breaking laws much more easily than most really makes one “lawful”

New to this game, and recently finished my first little factory to have a proper building and a little bit of decoration instead of just being haphazardly placed temporary structures. (pawb.social)

This little iron refinery probably isnt much to look at for experienced players, but Im pretty proud of it. has 2 miners on a pair of pure iron deposits behind the structure feeding into the 8 smelters inside, divided into 2 different output locations because the best conveyors I currently have can only handle half it’s...
