Considering it’s treated as nothing more than a comedy song (because, to be fair, it is very, very funny), there’s no reason for Horse Outside to be such an incredible tune. I’m actually annoyed that I didn’t think of it for last night’s show.
@imalcolm I once heard an interview with Blindboy where admitted that Spastic Hawk was written in the style of Bill Callahan, which introduced me to the albums of Smog.
Sure, he’s a funny Irish guy with a bag on his head, but he’s also deeply intelligent.
I guess I understand why it’s the case, but it still blows my mind that British Standards documents aren’t freely available from .gov.uk as a download.
They’re literally the documents that outline how things should be done, but you have to pay a vast amount to access any of them.
@DJDarren ISO too. If not fully public sector/research based (preferred) then these sorts of things could be funded by the regulatory bodies that corporations are members of, and the standards made freely available.
I’m just now realising that, for some reason it could well be entirely possible to put together a two hour radio show comprising purely of songs about horses.
Just happened upon an exceptionally annoying bug in Pixelmator classic on macOS, whereby attempting to open the gradients menu causes the app to crash to the point that it won’t reopen. At all.
I have to completely uninstall it with AppCleaner, then download it again.
It’s a shame there are no decent alternatives to Mixcloud, because it’s a bucket of hot dog shit really.
See how you can’t download your own shows once you uploaded them. Not officially, any way. I’m currently making space on my free account by using a hooky website to download my own stuff.
Also, I spend a good fifteen minutes tagging each track and making sure the site knows what I played and when, only for that information to be completely unavailable to the listener.
Hmm, my MacBook will not allow me to upload files in a browser. Neither Safari nor Firefox will let me upload my show recording to LABR's Droppy folder.
Same happened last week. Won't let me upload to Mixcloud either. I'm having to transfer it to my iPad, then upload it from there, which is stupid.
