One of the many ways that Amazon has ruined the world, is in the way it almost effortlessly killed our ability to choose to buy things locally.
Like, I need new laces for my work boots. I could easily go on Amazon and order a pair of FYBEHWFAS’ finest laces and have them delivered to my house in a few days.
Or I could walk to a shop nearby to buy a pair without having to rely on people shipping them.
Except I can’t really do that, can I, because those shops have been driven out of business.
@DJDarren If you've got a branch of Clarks, they might have them on the rack of assorted shoe gubbins (polish, brushes, suede spray etc) behind the counter, but I'm not 100% sure about it.
@crinolinerobot Just searched Timpson’s store finder, and yeah, there’s one on the high street that I walk past every day and had completely forgotten about.
