Not sure why you're downvoted. It's very much true and was the same on Reddit. Moderation on Lemmy is a lot more lax comparatively, or goes into the opposite political spectrum due to all the Tankie instances, but ultimately it follows the same principle. It's all just private people, potentially on a power trip or too tired to differentiate the bullshit with honest mistakes, and there's no overarching self regulation that ultimately protects users from potential mod or admin abuse.
The majority of people on both sides of the spectrum don't give a shit. People need to stop acting like this is just politicians, or CEOs, when it is the vast majority of the voters & potential voters. You'd see a lot more votes towards green parties & candidates if it were different. But the truth is, most people don't want to lose their comfortable lifestyle. Real climate action would affect us all, in our lives, in the prices we have to pay for products, in the products available to us, how we move around, etc etc.

But I think they just start to realize how many of their customers jailbreak GPT for that specific purpose, and how good alternatives have gotten who allow for this type of chat, such as NovelAI. Given how many other AI services started to censor things and how much that affected their models (like your chat bot partner getting stuck in consent messages as soon as you went into anything slightly outside vanilla territory), and how much drama that has caused throughout those communities, I highly doubt that "loosening" their policy is going to be enough to sway people towards them instead of the competition.
Janitor, like most "free" models, degrades too quickly for my liking. And if I pay I might as well use NovelAI + Sillytavern, since they don't have any restrictions on their text gen models that could interfere with their generation. Local models I didn't had much luck with getting them to run and I suspect they'd be pretty slow too.
I'm for now just curious whether Rheinmetall actually has a real chance in the competition with its Lynx variant, or if they're going to keep it in house with General Dynamics. Either way, Ukraine is a good opportunity to just get rid of a lot of their old gear and not having to go through the process of dismantling it themselves, which is typically costly too.

But I've seen several variations of this by now, including fresh accounts on that other site that post some absolutely ridiculous Tinder convos, and then begging for the bear in the title. This whole thing is spreading so much that I highly doubt it is entirely organic. And if it is organic, then honestly, that'd probably be even worse because of how much it would say about us as a society who believes in so much bullshit. Given that we literally know that foreign operations target specifically shit like this in social media we should already be extra aware, but even without that, we should simply start to be more decent. Something you fail to do if you spread & support those type of disinformation and toxic stereotypes & downright accusations.
