Dathknight,

With the difference that you are allowed to buy and consume beer and wine at the age of 16 (hard liquor with 18).

So the whole “protecting the youth”-spil is idiotic …

Dathknight,

I just got my SD.

After exploring the system and playing around with many games in my library (thanks to who ever implemented network-downloading), I rediscovered Forza Horizon 5. The new way of playing it seemed to have changed my perspective on the game.

Sons of Valhalla looks fun but the mixed reviews worry me a bit.

Dathknight,

Spec Ops:The Line

All I wanted and expected was yet another mediocre military schooter. Mechanically I got that. What I not expected: how hard the story would hit. I am so very glad I went in blind.

Dathknight,

I agree. Admittedly I haven’t dealt with the legal side in years and never outside my own country. But definitely talk to a specialist lawyer or other expert about it. Because of the oral application it might not even be the lowest level of medical device anymore. And with that comes a multitude of regulations. From durability to material to production environment.

I like the idea and as someone who had to use a dispenser in my youth, I appreciate the smaller profile of it.

Dathknight,

Damn … There goes the rest of the week replacing it … Thank for the warning

Dathknight,

A 3D-Printer, I thought I just play around with it and get bored, but you discover so many things that you can do!

The handle on the fridge broke? Print new ones. Need a Flowerpot? Just print one. The router needs a wallmount? I have one ready in a few Hours.

Also I can watch it print for hours, very fascinating and calming.

Dathknight,

An Ender 3 V2

Dathknight,

well, the handle was fixed with duct tape until I got a printer …

nothing will ever truly replace duct tape!

Dathknight,

I used FreeCAD to create my objects. It has quite a steep learning curve but it works for me.

I heard good things about TinkerCAD which should be easier to use for some quick ideas.

Dathknight,

Dathknight,

Was zum ... was kommt als nächstes? Ein Autozwang?

Dathknight,

Endlich wird auch mal an die armen, gebeutelten, unterrepräsentierten Autofahrer*innen gedacht!

Das macht ja sonst niemand!

/s

Dathknight,

Some TotK and some Monster Hunter maybe some Advanced Wars sprinkled in.

So much to do so little time!

Dathknight,

Yup, Rise is correct. I play with a buddy of mine once a week. Although we hunt since the release of rise, we just finished the sunbreak story and slowly fighting our way through the anomalies. Life often gets in the way but MH is easy to pick up where you left it or to play even when there is not much time.

Dathknight,

Now I have an existential crisis...

At work I develop for windows servers with vs code, which I also use at home on my Arch powered ThinkPad ...

WHAT AM I!?

Dathknight,

I can't blame him if he wants his app to survive. I used the pro version for years and would happily payed the planed subscription. But because the vast majority, if not all of the money goes to Reddit I just can't bring myself to do it. I hope his calculations are correct and if they are not, I hope he doesn't falls into dept.

I can't blame the 3P Devs for dealing with this situation as they see fit. It feels like shooting the messenger ...

Dathknight,

Spec Ops: The Line I thought it was just another military 3rd-person shooter. Boy was I wrong. That thing hit me hard!

Also Oni by bungie. I like the style and I remember that the climax was somewhat emotional for very jung me.

This war of mine I cannot play this game for long and I absolutely love it for that.

There are others too but the common thing is that they were emotional for me. Sure I remember great visuals or gameplay but at the end of the day the games that make me feel stuff stay with me.

Dathknight,

came here to post this.

Also it always feels like I’m cheering for my system. :D

Dathknight,

While not a daily login bonus, the weekly and monthly tasklist of Forza Horizon 5 killed the game for me. It triggered some sort of fomo and I would rush in every week to grind the new tasks/events. That burned me out very fast, so I could not enjoy the rest of the game.

Dathknight,

When I was a child I played a boardgame on my bed with my sibling. When I lost I let my self fall back in frustration and for dramatic effect. I thought I would just hit my mattress, instead I hit my bedframe with my head. Some screaming and bleeding later we went to the hospital for some stiches.

TLDR: played board game ended up in hospital

I hate time zones, especially when I'm stupid

The primary application at my job was...not well written. Originally .NET Framework 3.5 with a strange collection of approaches to MVC. SQL Server for data. I claimed it look like something written by CS students fresh out of college on their first job. Turned out I was close...it was written by 3rd-year CS interns. We've fixed...

Dathknight,

I feel you...

One of my services connects multiple systems. Some with timezone information some without. It is all a big guessing game ... Add some misconfigurations of VMs and you get some very interesting errors.

Dathknight,

Monopoly on the Switch. Basically you can take out a Mortgage on a street and sell it to the AI. But the AI seems to be hard coded to immediately pay off said Mortgage. After that you can buy back the street. Repeat until the AI runs out of money.

I am not allowed to do that when playing with other people... somehow...

What game is improved the most by mods?

I know most of the Bethesda RPGs have massive mod support, and there's games like Minecraft that have more mods than anyone can imagine. I would consider those games pretty playable in their vanilla states. Would you say there are any games that were "saved" by modding? Or that are still kept alive by thriving modding...

Dathknight,

Both actually. I have a server for a small group of friends and we play regularly together. It is our 4th save we started and this time we do some RP with some minor PvP.

But often I load up a creative world put some music on an just design ships or vehicles. It is like playing with virtual Lego with the benefit that you can blow it up afterwards.

I haven't done it in some time but playing alone on a survival save game is enjoyable too, especially with said NPC and physics mods. Last year I played along with some YouTuber who shared is savegame.

But I have to admit that it's hard to get into without a starting point. Not because it's hard or complicated, because it is a complete sandbox without fixed goals.
