Yeah, reading through the github issues it seems the developer meant you can play stuff logged out but you can’t use spotify search without an account so the search doesn’t work unless you log in.
On another note, you have a comment about being unable to jump to the same post on your home instance. If you search a post URL on your home instance, you can find the post on your home instance. Is there a way to use a search API call to find the post on your hone instance?
What would it look like (technically)? Even mastodon has not solves this issue, they use a redirect to point an old account at the new but I’m not sure if there is much more than that.
I think this is an excellent policy, and a long time coming. This is done overseas with good effect. While I don’t think it’s a magic bullet, it is definitely a step in the right direction.
I think Labour should be braver, but I understand they feel they are losing their chances of winning the election and thus are playing it safe.
This is likely a big part. If they were clearly losing we would probably see more impactful policies. Since they have had two terms and know that’s about when parties get voted out, yet they are still neck and neck with a right wing coalition, their best chance of winning is likely to make small adjustments that should be universally popular to gain a small amount in the polls, rather than going all out and risking a big drop in popularity.
Back in 1935 the first Labour government came to power and faced a severe housing crisis. It didn’t fiddle and tinker – it rolled its sleeves up. By the late 1930s it was building 3500 state houses per year for a population of around 1.5 million.
I run Gnome (Ubuntu currently) and have minor stability issues. I also just… kinda don’t like it. Previously I was running Fedora and liked it more but again, stability issues (which was what I was hoping to solve moving to Ubuntu).
Do you have any suggestions for a novice friendly distro that has (or can easily be set up to have) a dock and hot corner window switching like gnome under KDE?
I would guess Europe has competition between banks that lead to much lower service charges. Our small market has ample examples of our lack of competition leading to higher prices.
